πŸ› οΈ The Problem

If Confluence table editing were a bit easier, then decision-making for project management would be much more efficient.

Excel enthusiasts, there is a way for you to easily use Excel functions like the IF function in Confluence tables. In this article, we’ll show you how.

πŸš€ The Solution: Inline Table Editing

Inline Table Editing is a tool that allows you to sort, filter and use Confluence tables for calculations - easily in view mode! The fact that you don’t have to jump into editing mode first saves you valuable time. You can import Excel tables directly or create tables in Confluence yourself. Switch to view mode and start having fun with over 300 built-in functions for your calculations.

πŸ“ˆ How to use Excel IF Functions in View Mode

1. Go to Confluence, pick your table

2. Create a row or column where you want to track your if function

3. Stay in the view mode and start typing your function

4. Hit Enter and use our autofill function to assign the formula to the cells below.

In our example, we want to display if the column's value is β€œEast”. So we type in that function: =IF(D2="East", "Yes", "No")

πŸ’‘ Mastering IF Functions in Confluence

Inline Table Editing isn't just about displaying data; it's about making data-driven decisions in Confluence a breeze. Say goodbye to static tables and embrace the dynamic potential of Excel-like IF functions in Confluence. No coding, no switching to the edit mode. Just do complex calculations easily in view mode.
