Atlassian's partners are a vital part of our community and we want you to be active in it! The Atlassian Community team is dedicated to providing an equal platform to all partners. Here are some guidelines for how to do so effectively.
If partners are interested in becoming more broadly involved in community, perhaps even joining the Community Leaders program in the future, providing general help to our users and participating in community is a great way to get started. Learn more about the Community Leaders program here.
✅ Maintain an active community profile (Logged into Community within the previous 30 days at the time of requesting) with a posting/liking history
✅ Included your partner company in your username
✅ Agreed and adhered to the Atlassian Terms of Service, Rules of Engagement, and outlined Marketplace Partner Guidelines
🚨 Request Article Writing permissions and Lozenge here ➡️ CLICK ME
*By requesting partner access, you will also receive a lozenge on your profile that will identify you as a partner.*
The Atlassian Community does not condone the following:
Sole promotional language and behavior
Promotional language in published content, external links to product sites, “read more” language, discounts, surveys, ‘featuring’
Plagiarism or gaming the system
Reposting, copy-paste content, mass upvoting, sock-puppeting, impersonating users, necroposting (raising a post from the dead) and any other unethical behavior.
Harmful or negative behavior
Do not provoke, instigate or bash other community members. Foul and negative language is not tolerated.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI usage for the purpose of formatting, language, spelling, etc. is allowed if utilized as a tool, but the core of your response should be written by you: AI should not be used as a substitute for providing accurate answers and knowledge to our users, and you are responsible for ensuring that any information you provide is accurate. If you post images or text wholly or largely generated by AI, you should also indicate as such in your comments. For more, please refer to Atlassian’s Responsible Tech Principles.
Content: General-interest articles about Atlassian products, Atlassian events, agile methodologies, etc which do not mention apps
Promotions: You may link your product or service in the event:
A user explicitly asks for information about your products or services
You are mentioning your app as one possible solution to users
You've written an article about a particular app and want to link the app in your article
Your support documentation answers a user's question in depth and you want to refer them to it (note, please include a summary of the answer on the community as well. rather than just linking out without any context)
You are promoting a webinar that adds community value (see more below)
Necroposting: is only applicable when all of the following is applied:
Your post adds value to the thread and is specific to the user you are responding to (no cutting and pasting content in multiple threads)
You have not not updated more than 2 old posts per day
You have discussed alternative paths, included a marketplace search link in place of direct link to your app/company
The community is not an appropriate place to promote special pricing or discounts. The community is a place of learning and connecting, not solely a place to promote or point people back to your products or your website. Do not promote your app or spam comments in threads.
The Atlassian community and its subsequent ‘groups’ are moderated by Community Mangers, Group Admins, and Moderators.
Partners who abuse these guidelines will be provided an immediate warning. Warnings are provided in the form of internal comments/at-mentions and E-mail from Atlassian staff.
Repeated violations may result in consequences including:
Revocation of article-writing permissions
Account suspension
Escalation to the Atlassian Marketplace team
Publishing articles
Posts must include educational value, and should be 99% practical information, and 1% promoting your product or service. You must mention your affiliation to the company in the body of the article.
Answering questions
We do not utilize the use of signatures, especially those with a link
App recommendations must be relevant and clear. Presented apps or solutions should only be recommended in cases that would solve the customer’s problem and no other helpful solutions were provided.
Creating tags
Tags can be created to organize your content relevant to your app. You can ask users to create content using your tags can live in the same place and generate links pre-populated with your tags and include them in your support experience
When in doubt, keep your content to our dedicated spaces, the App Central group and the Solutions Partner group.
