Updates field cascade based on group

I'm having difficulty inserting information into a cascade field in post-function

can you help me?

The idea is to check which group the reporter is part of and then update the first field cascate with a certain information

I was able to check the group, but I'm not able to update the cascate field ..

help me?

Are you trying to update just the first portion of the cascading select?

Yes, just the first field.

I think the link Neta posted is technically correct but what I wonder is if you're accounting for the parent/child relationship of options in cascading fields. If you want to update the parent (first option), you'll inevitably affect the child (second option).
