We have a 30 day evaluation licence for Service Desk in our dev environment that is also running 7.8.1 JIRA Software (Server). Our JIRA Software has a current dev license, but we are running into issues with the plugin Project Configurator from Adaptavist. When attempting to import or export a project, we get a message similar to: "Evaluation licenses are not allowed to import into a production JIRA. Run a simulation import or test the import on a test/staging instance."
We have successful used the Project Configurator plugin prior to installing the Service Desk eval license and the plugins license is up-to-date.
We also tried restricting the imports to just object types and projects that were not related to Service Desk, but was still running into the same error.
I have also confirmed in JIRA that the JIRA Software app does state it is under a developer license.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to continue to use Project Configurator while also evaluating other Atlassian licenses in a development environment?
Are you kidding. Same scenario here. Export from our productive jira instance. Trie to import into our jira test instance running with a developer license (which comes along with the production license) and it fails. How am I supposed to evaluate the plugin.
Peter
Hi Peter,
Can I please confirm if any of the licenses in the test instance are a production license as if this is the case then the plugin will not let you import as you cannot import using an evaluation or developer license of PC when any of the Jira licenses are production licenses.
If you are still encountering issues then Can I please ask you to raise a support request in our support portal located here so that we can troubleshoot this issue for yourself.

Kristian

Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for your question.
Can you please confirm if the Jira Core of Jira Software license for the Jira instance where you are running the import contains a production license and if you are using an evaluation license for Project Configurator.
The plugin is restricted to only allow imports onto a production instance using a production license when a production license has been installed for the plugin.

Hi Kristian,
We are using our developer license for Project Configurator and our JIRA Software license is also a developer license in the environment where we are receiving the error message. Our trial of Service Desk is an evaluation license.
Thanks, Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,
Can you please confirm if there is a Jira Core or Jira Software license also in the instance which has service desk installed.
If a Jira Core or Jira Software license is installed and these are using are a paid for production license then this will stop the import working until a production license for Project Configurator is installed.

Kristian

Hi Kristian,
Yes, there is a JIRA Software license installed on this instance (and there is not a JIRA Core license). However, the license for JIRA Software is also a "Developer" license and not a production license.
Thanks, Elizabeth
