How to hide some fields based on another field value in JIRA cloud

9103296 May 24, 2023

Hi,

We recently moved to cloud. In server version, we used Script runner Behavior scripts to make a field mandatory and to make make hide/show based on the value selected in a custom field.

But in Cloud, i am not sure, my behavior script is showing so many errors. I tried Automation in JIRA, but that didn't helped me.

Anyone please help me in getting this issue resolved

Hi @9103296

Behaviors in cloud have nothing to do with Behaviors in server. They lack many things currently, but alas the dudes and dudettes at Adaptavist are working towards closing this gap.

With the above said, in Cloud, behaviors only works for "on create" screen and only for a selection of custom field types. E.g. you can't change the behavior of a date or date-time field (as we speak).

If you have JSM you can use form to show hide fields during the creation of a ticket. If not, you can see some example of Behaviors here https://docs.adaptavist.com/sr4jc/latest/features/behaviours/example-behaviour

And most likely you will need the following example:

getFieldById("FIELD_ID").setVisible(false)
