Can we configure job to detect changes to a column in jira database table

HI Team,

I am looking to configure a job using Adaptavist scriptrunner plugin to check if any changes have been made to a column of a table  within last few minutes?

Hi Vineela,

Can I please ask are you using Jira Cloud as you have tagged this request as inside of Jira Cloud atlassian provides no access to the database which means you can not check when data in  a database table has changed.

If you are using Jira Server or Data Center then the suggestion by John is the approach that you should use.

I am sorry i tagged a wrong jira instance. This is for Jira server not cloud.

Hi Vineela, 

Welcome to the Atlassian Community. 

I've not tested before but there are few steps you can look at:

• Configure ScriptRunner Custom Jobs and set to run every few minutes.
• Configure Local Database Resource and use the DB resources script in the custom job.
• Explore the stackoverflow article to find the suitable SQL query that can detect the changes on the database table.

You may need to do a few testing to see the result. I hope this helps.
