Currently, the customer portal allows us to search up to 5 request types based on Jira’s AI.
Our customers wanted to search all request types on the portal, which is not available on the customer portal right now.
Our team has created an add-on called “Better Search in Customer Portal“, which allows customers to filter all request types containing specific alphabet or words. The plug-in allows us to configure where the search field should be visible on the customer portal, for example, you can enable the “search“ field on the main page of the help center or add the field for the specific project.
In this example, the search field is enabled for a specific project, and here you can see how it looks:
Placeholder “Search for requests..(TA)“ can be edited.
When you start typing “pro“, you can see that the result contains 6 request types with “pro” in the name.
Also, request types can be sorted with name by desc or asc.
In addition, the plugin has several features.
The first one is, that customers can search for the created issues on the customer portal, based on the configuration. You can allow customers to search by issue summary and select the results from the table view.
The feature is fully configurable.
One additional benefit of the plug-in is that it allows you to add the value from a text field to an existing select list custom field when creating an issue and choose the option to the field. This feature can be particularly useful for generating reports and storing data for future reference.
