Organize your Confluence content by label! Tag Cloud is now approved and ready for Data Center!

Do you want to have an overview of your labels by use? Do you want to streamline the navigation process to your most important topics? Are you a fan of eye-catching visualizations? Then Tag Cloud may be just the app for you. With many different word cloud display styles included, you can explore your content by label in the way that works best for you. You can navigate to your Tag Cloud from the sidebar, or even include it in a page through use of a macro to optimize your navigation process.

With server support coming to an end soon, we’ve upgraded our app to support Data Center deployment, as validated by the Atlassian Data Center approval process.

How does Tag Cloud work?

Tag Cloud allows you to view the labels of your Confluence pages all in a single place, with the labels themselves linking to their respective content. By default, labels scale with their usage, allowing you to see your most important topics at a glance. Tag Cloud introduces extensive filtering options, so you can choose to show labels by author, space, update date, and more. Customize how the word cloud appears on a page with extensive options in the page macro. You can set the dimensions, color, and even use slick 3D configurations.

Tag Cloud excels in dashboards, home and overview pages, visualizing trends and active content. Want to personalize your user profiles to include the topics you’ve recently contributed to, or view your team’s contributions over the last few months? Tag Cloud comes with numerous options that can be added to get your cloud looking exactly like you need it to.

What customization options are available?

By default, your Tag Cloud will look like a normal heat map of labels scaled by usage. However, the numerous options available in the macro configuration allow you to limit the labels appearing to a specific subset, user, or time period, as well as only including labels that appear concurrently. Are some of your labels too long, or do you want to filter out a specific pre or postfix? There’s an option for that, too. You can also adjust the font sizes and scaling algorithms. Even the shape of your word cloud can be customized by including your own mask. Finally, your Tag Cloud doesn’t have to be static! You can use animated 3D presentations to give your landing page that perfect facelift.
