We're excited to announce the launch of our latest app for Confluence Cloud, QC Traceability, which is now available on the Atlassian Marketplace. This powerful tool is designed to help you achieve full project traceability and compliance with essential industry standards, including IEC 62304 and GAMP5.

Why is Traceability Important?

While developing software, it’s important to have clear traceability to ensure the software is built correctly, efficiently, and with high quality and to keep track of and document the history of requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Traceability provides forward and backward visibility so that you know what activities have been done for each requirement. Maintaining full and clear traceability helps minimize risks, increase productivity, and even achieve compliance with required specifications and standards.

To ensure comprehensive tracking of requirements and their implementation across different levels of a project, it’s important to have both Vertical and Horizontal Traceability.

Vertical Traceability refers to the tracking of requirements through the hierarchical levels of the development process, from high-level business requirements down to detailed technical specifications, design, code, and test cases.
