can portfolio be used for roadmapping in classic projects

i would like to use the portfolio tool predominantly for roadmapping however I currently hold my projects in classic and i dont really want to change to next-gen, are they compatible?

Hi @victoria.mcguire ,

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the community, and your current setup using the classic plans is the optimal configuration for Portfolio.

Currently in Portfolio the plans are designed to be compatible with the Classic projects, and with next-gen projects are not compatible on many of the features.  You can however still see and use the next-gen project type in a portfolio plan, but this is not recommended and the feature set would be extremely limited as covered in the following KB:
