Jira Portfolio : Is there a way to save view settings of a plan ?

Dhaval Desai December 16, 2019

Hi team,

Here is the scenario :

Using portfolio, I have created a plan and by default it shows certain fields ( target start and end dates, status ) with certain width. Now I am adding additional columns ( due date, estimates ) and also resizing each field.

After this I logout.

Problem : Now when I open same plan from someone else's browser or other browser from my own machine, I don't see changes that I made to view of my plan.

Is there a way to set a save this view so that everyone in the team and I also don't have to do it again everytime when we visit this plan ?

Hi @Dhaval Desai

In the top right, you find a button "Share". When you share the generated link with someone, the column settings will be included (I dont think column size is passed on, but the selected columns themselves are).

The shared columns may be collapsed, but they are in the view.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Kind regards
Jorden

Thanks for your response. Yes, it helps but the way I share my portfolio with few other key people in the team is by giving them view and read permissions. They can open plan once they are logged into their Jira account. But when they do this currently, they don't see the same view.

Hi @Dhaval Desai

Mm, I understand, but I'm afraid that you can't save the view in the plan itself. This feature request may come close to what you try to achieve. I suggest voting on the request and adding a comment to specify your use case (I'd definitely mention working from a different pc or browser).

Kind regards
Jorden
