How to hide archived components on the plan

It appears that in order to not show a component on the Plan view as an option to add to an issue the component has to be deleted.  I really just want to be able to select from active components on the plan.  Since we have 30+ archived ones its a lot to scroll through.

Has anyone figured out a way around this?
