CustomFieldType in Portfolio

I just created a CustomField add-on for my own custom field type into JIRA, but I was not able to add it to the plan.  How do i get this into portfolio?   It currently says the type is not supported.  Is there some API I need to implement for it to be in Portfolio?

Hi @Mike Winston,

Portfolio currently only supports a specific set of field types to ensure we are able to display and edit those correctly.

I'd suggest giving more details on what you are trying to achieve (i.e which field type and why) on the issue suggestion: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JPOSERVER-155

Thank you @Thomas.  I have added by item to the issue and voted it.  Disappointing, but i understand.
