I presume the email notifications are enabled for most of the users and spam posts can be seen this group( Note - I have received a recent one yesterday only)

Is it possible to hold any suspicious post in community and hold the approval and sending notifications it if does not follow community guidelines?

I know it might not be a simple and straightforward ask( there might be other consequences) but looking for suggestions and inputs.

Thanks for checking.

The community board has "stop spam" as a regular item, and there have been a lot of improvements made recently (last month there were a lot of 'bots that had completely defeated all the prevention and a lot of effort was put into stopping them).

Putting a hold on suspicious posts has been discussed, but while it is highly effective, it's not efficient and it can put off new users.  If you do something like "hold any post from a new user in case it's spam", you have to invest a large amount of human time reading and checking them, and people new to the site will see their posts ignored, not even appearing and that will discourage them from the community, we'll lose them.

So, I don't think this will ever be done.  It's better to let the filters let a few through and have a moderator kill them off, than put new people off by blocking them until approved.

Thanks @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-  for your response and explaining the current situation, challenges involved, corrective steps taken so far to address these issues.

In summary, it's a corrective approach to deal the situation instead of preventing in the first place.

I appreciate the efforts but still I think Atlassian should continue ideation and better ways to handle situation in future.

I would be eager to hear from others point of view.
