Atlassian Marketplace fake reviews

Hi,

Recently regulators in the EU and US have become more active in trying to prevent fake reviews in marketplaces. For example see https://www.theregister.com/2021/10/14/fake_reviews_ftc/ .

The Atlassian Marketplace also has the problem of fake reviews.  This is e.g. discussed at: https://community.developer.atlassian.com/t/eu-directive-2019-2161-or-how-atlassian-is-going-to-address-fake-reviews-on-the-atlassian-marketplace/52880 .

How is Atlassian going to address the fake review issue?

it looks that since May the rules for writing a review has changed so a user leaving a review must be an actual user of an App now:

I did not go through the process of reviewing an App for so long - so this is just what the popup reported.
