viewing all of the cards listed under a category on a board

I have a board with monthly categories.  It shows that there are 12 cards under January, but I can only see 6 of them.  

I am able to use the search feature and find the card, but if I don't already know the name of the card, I cannot see it?

What am I missing?

How do I see all of the cards under each monthy category on  a board?

It sounds like to have filters enabled.  Remove the filters from the menu or by pressing the "x" key on your keyboard when you're on your board.
