I received months for free for inviting users. Clicking Start using Trello Gold gives the "activating trello gold" popup, but it never completes. Am i doing something wrong?

I am facing the same issue. I have opened a ticket also but awaiting reply.
Same here... this is the second major bug I come across within 2 days of using Trello. Pretty embarassing.
