can i Archive many cards at once

Hugo Fitz October 9, 2017

Hi folks -

I haven't been able to find quite what I'm looking for in search, so here goes:

I have about 250 cards in my "Completed" list from the last two years.

I'd like to archive the ones that I know will not become active again (about 225).

I'd also like to not spend 45 hours manually archiving each card.

Is there a way to selects all cards older than six months and move them to a "staging area" list and archive that whole list?

Hey Hugo

My recommendation is in two parts. The first is using Butlerbot to sort your list by age.

PART ONE

  1. Add Butlerbot to your board here
    1. A new list will be created called Butler
  2. Add a new card to list Butler with the following text
sort the cards in list "Completed" by time in list

Butler will sort the cards in that list by the time they've been there, which will allow you to proceed with the 2nd part

PART TWO

Now, since your cards are sorted, it will be less time consuming to move those 25 cards you'd like to keep to another list, maybe titled Completed2. Then you can archive the entire list with the remaining cards. Once that's done, just change Completed2 to Completed

I hope this recommendation helps, and feel free to let me know if you have questions about Butler or setting it up.
