When I copy a list from one board to a new board, archived custom fields re-appear. Why?

I have a list that had custom fields. I already deleted those fields so my original list is in good condition. When I copy that list and then try to move it to a new board, those custom fields all come back and I have to re-delete them. Is there a way to permanently delete those custom fields so they don't come back?

@Jose Bonilla when you move a card from one board to another, if that card has values set on any custom fields, then those fields will be created on the card into which it was moved.
