Trello for printing and sign company?

Sam Pulice May 24, 2019

We are a custom digital print, mailing and sign company. we have to track and manage multiple invoices every week. an invoice represents a job and may have multiple jobs per invoice.

We currently write a 3x5 colored card (color for type of job to print) and place it on a schedule board. these invoices are typically done and shipped or delivered in 2-4 days. could Trello help us keep eyeballs on jobs in each department of our shop? Is tracking invoices in progress a good fit for Trello?

Thanks,

Sam

@Sam Pulice Yes, I would think Trello could be used in this format.

Here's my suggestion:

  1. Create a "Schedule" board.
  2. On the board, create a list for each status/step of the invoice (Incoming, Processing, Shipping, Done, etc.)
  3. Use the colored labels on a card to signify the type of job(s) to print.
  4. Set due dates on the cards to track order of work.
  5. Utilize the Checklist on a card if there are multiple jobs needed for the invoice.
  6. Move the card through the lists from start to done to track invoice status.

Trello is pretty flexible for any need - it just takes time to adjust and customize. There's also some great examples on https://trello.com/inspiration – feel free to browse and check out other Trello boards!
