I'm curious to know if it is possible at this time to link a conversation in Hangouts Chat to a Trello card so conversations in Hangouts Chat also appear on the card?
Not at the moment Jeffrey. Right now, it's only possible to send custom alerts from Trello to specific chat rooms. Here's more information about it: https://help.trello.com/article/1116-trello-for-google-hangouts-chat

Our team are also interested in this. Besides, it'd be much better if we can assign each card to any given chat rooms!
We would be interested in and agree it would be much better to have the ability to assign each card to a given chat room.
