Template Automations

When creating my template there are no automations in the template. When I create a card from my template and add an automation button it adds the automation to all of my other cards that were created from the same template. How can I create a new card from my template, add an automation and the automation only stay with that card? I have tried everything I can think of.

FIrst of, can you please clarify if what you're using is a template board or a template card? And when you mention automation button, is it a card button or a board button? Here's the difference between the two:

• Card Buttons automate workflows on a card level such as adding or removing card labels, moving the card to the top of the list, etc

• Board Buttons automate workflows on a board level such as reordering cards in lists or creating new lists

Can you share what your Automation is in more detail so I can understand the full context of the issue.

To help you with this, you can start with using a template card and use the Create card from template button to create new cards or use a card button to automate a few steps: 

I used a card button and named it Copy to To Do so I can add actions like copy the card to the top of the list To Do and also join the card. This button will only work on the newly created card, and won't affect any other cards in that board:
