Some team members consistently get "400 Bad Request" and cannot use the GitHub Powerup

Matt Van Stelle August 21, 2020

Can't attach PR to card: https://slack-files.com/T0EE6QN9F-F018ZHTMTSN-d802e03c3e

Can't reauthenticate: https://slack-files.com/T0EE6QN9F-F019ZP1HWPJ-d2d321f2fe

Works fine for some but not for others on the same repo with no clear difference between the users for whom it works and those for whom it does not. All using the latest Chrome browser.

Hi Matt,

We had another user facing a similar problem and managed to fix it by deleting cookies and local storage set by the domain "github.trello.services". If you are on Chrome, you can do that by going to "chrome://settings/cookies/detail?site=github.trello.services" and pressing "Remove All". After doing that, please try to auth to Github again.

And if that doesn't work, you can try removing all cookies from all domains on your browser, then trying to auth again.

If you are not on Chrome, you'll have to look up how to delete cookies and local storage for your browser. If you run into trouble I'm happy to help.

Thanks,

Jireh

+1 on this. I started seeing this recently too. Many of my colleagues too. I am watching this card for the accepted answer!

Hi Matt,

My first thought around this is that it might be related to some browser settings. Could you check that you have enabled local storage as per the steps here: https://help.trello.com/article/1093-enabling-localstorage.

If that doesn't help, it would be great if you could send us a ticket to trello.com/contact and we can work with the team to figure out what may be going on for you.

Thanks!

Ryan

Cookies are enabled for the people experiencing this issue. It has been going in and out for a few weeks now. Currently working, so I guess we'll submit a ticket next time it stops working

Sorry to tag onto your thread @Matt Van Stelle - but I tried the local storage tip above and it did not work for me (fyi, it was already enabled).

I will create a new ticket @Ryan so as not to pollute this thread. Thx!
