I'm curious what happens with the following automation:
Trigger: when a card assigned to me is added to the board by anyone
Action: unsubscribe from the card
Does unsubscribing from a card prevent me from getting an email notification when someone else @mentions me in the comment or is it just the equivalent of unwatching the card?
I'm having a hard time finding documentation on this particular action.
Thanks.
Hi @Sandri Dekker ! 😊 Yes, it's the latter; unsubscribe = unwatch. So you should still get @mention notifications, but you won't receive notifications if the card gets other updates like due date changes, when a card moves lists, etc.
Hi Hannah, if someone unsubscribes from a card, will they stop getting Due Date notifications? For example, all members of my team don't want to receive notifications about when a crad moves, if they're added to the card, etc... etc.. however, what is very important is the notification that lets them know its due in 2 days. Will unsubscribing stop the due date notification as well?
Thanks,

Hi @Patch Bowen!
Unsubscribing from a card will prevent the due date notifications from being sent.
If they don't want to receive email notifications for other changes, I suggest changing the email notifications settings on their Account settings page. You can find more details about notifications here:

Sorry, it's not the email notifications its the Push notifications. My team get frustrated getting notifications for every single thing that happens to a card.
However, they need the due date notification.

Are they using the Trello mobile app? If so, they can choose which push notifications they want to receive. This document has the instructions for Android and iOS:

Hi Carolina,
In theory that is exactly what I want to be able to do, however on our android devices when we click push notification settings, we only get this page. We don't get those options highlighted on that link you sent.

@Patch Bowen the screenshot you sent seems to be from the device settings. Could you please confirm if you see the same while accessing the notifications through the Trello app such as in the recording below?

@Carolina Hi Carolina, unfortunately when I follow the steps here, it takes me to the settings page I sent before. I'm using the latest version of Android and the Trello app.... don't know why, but I don't get this screen where I can pick the notifications.

@Patch Bowen , can you kindly let us know which device you're using? I'll check with our development team to see if this behavior is expected.

Hi @Patch Bowen
I checked internally, and it appears that Samsung added a setting to show notification categories, which is turned off by default: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S23/No-option-to-Manage-Notification-Categories/m-p/2829661/highlight/true#M36898
Go to Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings, then toggle "Manage notification categories for each app".
You should be able to change Trello notification settings after that.
