Question About Sharing Boards

Dvorah Lansky, M.Ed. December 1, 2022

When I provide someone with a link to a board with instructions to COPY it... What happens if they don't copy it - are they able to type into it, thus changing MY copy of the board?

I'd be grateful for your reply and any words of wisdom you can share on this topic.
Thank you.

Hello @Dvorah Lansky, M.Ed. ,

Welcome to the community!

If you share a board and instruct the user to Copy the board and instead they decide to modify the board that would affect the current data on the board itself.

We would recommend copying the board to a NEW board and sharing that with the user so that way your data is protected.

This would prevent any unexpected changes on your board and allow the user to freely access the copied data on the new board.

What a great suggestion. Thank you.

do I make a copy of the board I want to share…

so if I share that with multiple people, for anyone who forgets to copy it, will there changes affect the boards of others who have that board?

also is there any way to tell if someone makes changes to the board?

Thanks.
