We have always received our email notifications from day one but suddenly today , some activity comments are not generating an email notification. One board in particular we receive email notifications in one column but not from cards in another column. Our email notifications are still set to instantly notify and the test email arrived in my inbox. I am using the same device as I always use. Has anyone else had this?

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.
As you have mentioned that - https://trello.com/test_notifications is working fine and your frequency is set instantly so it should not be an issue from general settings point of view.
Could you please check with Trello Support - http://www.trello.com/contact and share details with them?
