Making board visible to non trello users

Caitlin Vick October 6, 2020

We are hoping to put our Employee Onboarding Guide on Trello, with a link to it from our HRIS. Is is possible to do so and give our staff access, without asking them to sign up to Trello? We don't want them to be able to edit anything, just view only.

I understand the board can be made public, however - as this is a employee manual - it contains sensitive information.

Thanks in advance :)

@Caitlin Vick this is something that I have seen Michael Pryor mention in discussions, but no idea of timeframe for when it might arrive. Probably not in time for your immediate needs.

Is there a reason why you don't want your employees to create a Trello account?

Thanks for your response Iain. The reason for not wanting to create Trello accounts is because we want to make our HRIS a one stop shop, and not have too many platforms/login details that need to be used.

@Caitlin Vick did you know that people can sign into Trello using their Google of Office365 accounts? If you sign up for Atlassian Access then you can use their existing email account as the default identity provider, that would resolve the issue since they would, effectively, already have a Trello account:

Thank Iain.. could you explain how that aspect of Atlassian Access works? We use ELMO as our HRIS

You can only make the boards public, your not able to be selective like that.

Really, you should set all the employees up with Trello accounts, if they are only in one board, then its not a problem, if they share two boards, then they need to be paid users.
