Keeping teams confidential?

Mauricio Garza August 7, 2020

Hi, as a free-lance consultant, I'd like to manage work and projects for different customers. Is there a way to limit their access only to what is relevant for them without having access to work I do for other clients? Would this be a feature in the free version? Thanks!

@Mauricio Garza Do you really need them to be members of your team? You can have a free team with up to 10 boards and just invite your clients as members to each board without adding them to the team.

If you pay for a business class team, and you're the only team member then you'd only pay for yourself, so long as each client is a member of only one board in the team.

If you just add your clients to boards rather than adding them to your team, they won't be able to see anything on boards they're not a member of.

Thanks Ian, since I'm new to Tello I don't know if I REALLY need them to be members of my team. All I need is keep projects confidential to the customer in turn.

What you say makes sense: adding clients to boards rather than adding them to a team.

I'll start testing this ;)

You could make a new team for every customer, though that might get overwhelming in the long term. The upside is that they won't even see each other in this case.

There is an option to set visibility of Team Boards to Private, such that only team admins and people invited to the board can see them. But in free, all team members are also team admins, so you wouldn't be able to use that..

Thanks, yes, to start and since I'm testing the tool I want to keep with the free version.
