How to create a template card without the custom fields used on the board?

I work in an enterprise trello workspace. On de boards we created we use custom fields. Now i want to create cards on one of the boards without these custom fields. however, they always show up creating new cards. Allready tried to create a template but when i removed one of the custom fields in the template, this custom field was removed from all the cards.... (ggrrrr)

Custom field definitions are defined at the board level. All cards on the board will have placeholders for all the custom fields. When you use a template from another board, the created card will have all the CF on it.
