For right now, we felt that adding the Template UI to the Calendar view was a little too cluttered, so the Templates are only possible on the regular board view, but I'll voice your support for adding that in the future!

I really don't think adding one drop-down option or an icon to use a template clutters things at all. Instead it VASTLY increases the functionality of the calendar. The whole point of making cards on the calendar is to not have to shift your mind out of that space. As is, you have to turn the calendar off, find the right list, create the card, remember the date you wanted it on, etc. Massive workflow/train-of-though interrupt.
