How do I synch my newly downloaded app to the email link invite I received?

I was originally sent an invitation from a work member. I downloaded that through my safari. 

I then downloaded the app, created an account for myself. 

I cannot get the app to synch up to the original email invitation I was sent by a team member. 

I haven’t had a lot of time to mess with it or read through community boards. 

Now the original link invite sent to me has timed out. (Awaiting a new link from sender).

You have to ask the admin of the board/team to invite you again to your newly created account's email or by username!
