External colleagues in Trello Business Class

Hi there! I want to upgrade my Trello team to business class. In this team we want to have one board, where also another project partners (not from our organization) can (actively) contribute.
How does it work? Do I have to add them first to my team and do an upgrade afterwards or ...?

And what will happen, if we delete them after the project?
