Hi @Luzmarie Ramirez ,

welcome to the Atlassian community!

Not neccessary, it depends on how the collaborators are added to your workspace, see here.

If they are added only to one board as guests, you don't have to pay for them.

Thank you for your reply..I am very confused and at this moment I feel like I need a special class on understanding what a collaborator is, a guest, a user ...etc

I have a team..my team consists of 9 members who need to look at the board and collaborate on the board (Collaborate..make changes, move board tiles, and attach files, pics , and make notes.). All will be on one board or MY workspace.  My understanding is that these team member can not be guests (because guests can only view)?  I don't want to pay for these collaborators?  I also have like 2 days to decide whether this will be a useful tool for my team...thus I need help?

Hey @Luzmarie Ramirez ,

maybe this article can help you. It should be perfectly fine to invite all your team members to this only one board as guests. Guests can make changes to the cards, don't worry.

Also see here, there are types of users explained. Please, let me know, if it makes sense for you or need to clarify something.

So board members are collaborators?  I can have 10 and not pay for them?
I don’t want any of them in my workspace.

Hi @Luzmarie Ramirez ,

in general there are two possibilities.

1) you don't want to pay for anybody, including you, you will have Trello free plan - this means you can have the most 10 collaborators in your workspace, including you (9+1).

https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/workspace-user-limit/

2) you will pay for you and won't pay for anybody else, you will have Trello standard or premium plan - this means only you will be added to your workspace as an admin and your team will be added as a single-board guests to one board. Then you can have more than 10 collaborators in your workspace and you still pay only for you, if they are single-board guests. If you create more boards and add somebody to more boards or add somebody to your workspace, you will also pay for them.

Hi @Luzmarie Ramirez ,

is everything clear? Thank you.

" your team will be added as a single-board guests to one board. Then you can have more than 10 collaborators in your workspace and you still pay only for you, if they are single-board guests. If you create more boards and add somebody to more boards or add somebody to your workspace, you will also pay for them."

Not really.  single-board guests to one board are = to 10 collaborators?

In my workspace and you still pay only for you, if they are single-board guests.

So if I add more single board guest/collaborators then I won't pay more?

If I add these collaborators/guests to my workspace (where they have access to all boards) then I pay for them, correct?

If you add more single board guests, then you won't pay more.

If you add them to your workspace, then you will pay for them.

Hello Hana, I'm piggybacking on Luzmarie's question.

I have a Trello  Premium account. Is it still possible to invite Collaborators on a single board (meaning I don't want to pay for them as Members of the Work Space) ?

When I try to do that, the invited user gets a message stating

You can't join this board because you're not a member of the board's Workspace.

What am I doing wrong (as the admin) ?

Thank you  for your time and guidance,

Andry

Don't bother, I found out that I had to go into the settings of the workspace to allow invitation of Members only in a board, sorry for the commotion :)
