Categorize cards in lists by projects

Paul October 27, 2017

I am trying trello and in order to effectively complete tasks i need to categorize my cards by projects. Right now it is a mix of different tasks on different work projects and also mix of some non-projects tasks. Right now it is a bummer. Is there an effective way to categorize them?

Thanks

There is a Power-Up now that allows for parent-child relationships in Trello now called Hello Epics.

Does this solve your problem?

Thanks for the feedback

Not really, no

It does create connections between different cards and it does them "parent-child"-ly, but it doesnt' really create a connection i was going for. For example strong connection would actually bind cards to category. If category is moved to another list - then all cards within it would do so. If category is deleted - so is the childs of it.

The worst is though that i can't really see any visual changes in lists. They are not really connected. If childs would have a padding from left and category would not have one - that would make a difference.

I hope i made my case - though i am not really sure.

You could accomplish this with something like ButlerBot by making your own automation rules, but I don't know of a solution or Power-Up out of the box that will do this.

If you want to check out ButlerBot, here's a link: https://butlerfortrello.com/butlerbot.html

Mind you, it might get a little complicated with the intricate rules it looks like you want.
