Butler rule when a checklist item is converted to a card

Ben Dunn September 23, 2021

Is it possible to trigger an action when a checklist item is converted to card? e.g. prepend the original card's title to the new card's title and assign it the same label?

@Ben Dunn one hack for this is to have a label on the parent card and copy labels when you convert the item to a linked card, then have a second rule which triggers when a card is created with that label.

We have a BenkoBot trigger for when a checklist item is converted to a card, your example would look like this:

You can read more about BenkoBot here:

You can use it yourself or we can connect you with developers that can set up your automations for you.

@Ben Dunn

There is no trigger of the kind you wanted but under Cascade there are 2 actions to convert item(s)to card(s). One of them allows you to rename the item.
If you can drag(you need to check) an item to a conversion checklist you might be able to achieve what you want.
