Hi
some time ago, I had an automation set up which created a linked card for any checklist items I was assigned to and this could be automatically added to a new list. The cards were linked so that when the newly created card was marked complete, the checklist item on the main card was ticked off also.
I cannot see how to do this now as the options I had written down for the sequence are no longer available. My ideal outcome is that I can do this, including assigning the newly created linked card to the team member assigned to different checklist items on the main card - is this possible please?
Many thanks,
Helen
Hi Helen!
I'm afraid there isn't a trigger for when a checklist item is assigned to a member. However, you aren’t alone in wanting this as we have had other users interested in this trigger as well. With that in mind, I’ve added this post as a “+1” to our existing suggestion, which you can access here: TRELLO-93
I would also recommend you to visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel. This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in. Also, when the ticket is updated by our product team, you'll be notified via email.
In terms of linking cards and items, you can find the options in the Cascade tab. You'll have the ability to create automations like this:
when an item is added to checklist "Tasks" in a card in list "New list", convert the item to a linked card in list "List 1"
If you want to automatically check the item when the linked card's due date is completed, you can set up a rule like this:
when the due date is marked as complete in a card in list "List 1", find the first card linked in the attachments, and check item "{triggercardlink}"
I used these documents as a reference to build the automations:

I hope this helps!
