An old employee deleted a bunch of our boards. Anyway to restore old boards?

Alissa Boukal April 8, 2019

We have Trello Gold so anyone with access to a board can delete it. Is there any way to recover an old board that an old employee deleted after being fired? Without Trello business class you have to open every board to remove an employee and we didn't get them removed from every single one

@Alissa Boukal in future, the best way to remove someone from all boards is to gain control of their trello account (via their email) and then delete the account. For this reason, it's a good idea to have your staff use an email address you provide, rather than their own.

It's painful, but if they have closed and permanently deleted the board, there's no way to get it back unless you had it backed up.

You can back up boards by periodically copying them, or you can back them up by exporting JSON, automatically or manually.

Or you can get Business Class and not have this problem in future.

But for now, if you can't see this board in your "Closed Boards" list then it's gone :(
