Best Project Management Power-ups

Cliff Dailey August 1, 2020

What's your go to BEST project management power-ups? I mean to say: what power-ups do you attach to each board every time you set up a new project?

My current bare bones list:

- Butler (of course!)

- Zapier (automation!)

- Diagrams.net (flowcharts for the team to see systems)

- Card Repeater (Got to make sure those sustainable tasks get captured)

- Google Drive (Looks nicer as a power-up)

What I'm looking for, know anything good?

- time tracking (time spent on each task/project that can be exported in .csv)

- anything else recommended to track project scope

Hi Cliff,

A couple of time-tracking Power-ups that you could look into are:

Time Tracker - Chronos
Time Tracking & Reporting
TimeCamp
Timespent for Trello
Activity

Hope this helps you with your search!

And I would add https://assista.io to that list of Time trackers. The difference with other similar tools is that it doesn't use start/stop buttons or manual time logging. It is integrated with your Trello flow and detects what you are actually working on.

@Cliff Dailey the only power ups I really use are Custom Fields and Crmble, but the best time tracking integration I've found is TimeDoctor, because it runs "in the background" rather than as a power up (power ups don't work on mobile devices).  TimeDoctor's desktop app is an abomination, but their mobile app is great and the Trello integration works really well so you can log time from the TD mobile app on cards you're a member of.

Project planning wise, the best tool imho is Placker.

I also created a couple of email products that allow you to use Trello as a Gmail client for either individual or shared addresses:

Hi @Cliff Dailey

I find Unito is great for collaboration across PM tools. I know you mentioned Zapier, so I included a blog post about the differences between the two if ever you were interested!

We've found there are only a couple we mainly use:

Ageing ... it shows if any cards have had no love in a little while by a gradual fade to grey ... means you can see at a glance to open and either act/respond or archive.

Big Picture, for setting up date deadlines and task dependencies ... it can be removed after if no longer needed, and brought back in on an as needed basis.

Although we have a complex board, its just due to the volume.  Its quite simple behind, and we try to keep life simple.  Less chance of making mistakes.
