Why isn't the Epic field show when in a next gen issue?

I've checked that you opened a ticket with our support related to the same question.
Currently, it's possible only to add Stories into Epics via the backlog of your board.
We have feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:

I guess Greg's question is different from https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17150.
It would help to see Epic name while browsing a ticket.
