Stride meeting notification sounds

We have noticed in the last week or so the standard notifications sounds when in a Stride meetings (e.g. users joining/leaving) have changed. The new sounds are quite loud and also intrusive during conversation. Is there anyway to disable or change these sounds?

Regards,

Hi, Dave.

You can disable the sound through Settings as per the following screen shot below by disabling the Play a sound checkbox:

On the other hand, we have the following Suggestion created to keep track of the request of changing the sound:

I encourage you to visit the suggestion page linked above and click the Vote and Watch links near the top right to show support for the feature. By doing this, it will ensure you are proactively informed of progress and updates going forward.

Feedback is also appreciated. You can do this by leaving a comment on the ticket as this helps us prioritize & understand the use case of the feature request.

Hi Ahmad,

Thanks for your response, unfortunately, I'm unable to see these settings in the Stride desktop app. Please can you tell me if this is possible or do I need to use the web app?

Regards,

Dave

Hi, Dave.

You are welcome. Would you be able to share which OS and the version the desktop client that you are running on so I can verify if the similar behavior is observed on my end? For now, I can confirm that the notification shows the options we shared on Mac and Windows for version 1.19.60.

Please take note that this option is not available directly on the web client as we can see here:

I have raised a Suggestion to address this to the development team:

STRIDE-2407: Synchronize the Notification Feature Between Desktop and Web Client

I encourage you to visit the suggestion page linked above and click the Vote and Watch links near the top right to show support for the feature. By doing this, it will ensure you are proactively informed of progress and updates going forward.

Hi again,

I've located the 'Notifications' settings shown above in the Windows desktop app and disabled 'play a sound' as suggested. However, this has not prevented the sounds playing within each individual video meetings. I still get the loud sound when a user joins/leaves a meeting. Any further suggestions?

Thanks,

Dave

Good day, Dave.

Thank you for the confirmation from your end. I had this tested properly on my end and verified that the join / leave meeting sound persisted even after disabling the checkbox. I went ahead and created the following Suggestion to address this concern to the development team:
