Private rooms in Stride

gokita-ecofactor September 7, 2017

Saw a note that any room member can invite others to a private room in Stride. We require a stronger access control policy that lets admins decide who has access to private rooms. Is this planned for Stride?

ps- HipChat mobile connectivity has seriously gotten worse in the last year or two. Shows offline all the time and missing critical Prod messaging, and then when reconnected the Send is still grayed out. Have to kill and restart to send a message. Not good -- is Stride going to fix this?

Hi Glen,

Unfortunately, admin access control on private rooms isn’t something that we support just yet, though we may add that capability in the future.

Thanks for the feedback! It's always good to hear what you are most interested in.

Regarding the Hipchat connectivity, Hipchat and Stride are completely different products and there is no connection between the two. That being said, Stride was built from the ground up with stability and scalability in mind.

Lauren, after the forced migration to Stride it was disappointing to learn the room permissions administration was taken from the admins and placed in the hands of the users. This is a serious issue for us.

Same opinion here. We're not going to use it because of this missing feature (admin access control on private rooms).
