Is there a known solution or plan in performance issues while screen sharing?

Hi community,

we are testing right now stride in our company, as the future solution for the internal and in some cases external communication.

As far as good. We are satisfied in general with some exceptions.

One is a significant performance issue while screen sharing. It happens not in every sesssion and is not connected to some local conditions.

  • The mouse ist moving with a strong delay 
  • it's not possible anymore to use the computer while screensharing
  • on the client form the presenter and the other participants as well

Is that a known issue?
Do someone else have this problem?
Is there a priority on this, to solve it?

We are using the free model for now in the test period, if that has an impact on the performance.

I'm looking forward on some feedback to this.

Hi Chris, 

To better understand what may be causing this issue, allow me to ask you a few questions: 

  • How many users are on the call when the issue occurs?
  • Are you and/or other users connected to a VPN?
  • Is the computer still unusable after the screen sharing ends, but still connected to the meeting?

thank you for your questions.

  • It happens with just 2 Users as well.
  • No we are not connected to VPN during the problems
  • The computer is still unusable after the screen sharing end, as well after the meeting ends. We have to quit the stride app and restart it again to get a normal performance back.

What we have detected while testing some cases. The issue occurs only on clients with the Mac OS 10.12. version and only with the app. On some clients we have the OS 10.11 and there is the performance ok.

While using stride on the browser (chrome) for screen sharing everything is fine, as well on OS 10.12.

We also have issues with performance using the Stride app. If more than 8-9 people are on the call performance can be terrible, with not hearing others, and slowing each persons computer down. If you try to screen share, often you get connectivity issues and can't view the presenters screen. We all change call quality to low and that can help a little, but this is a major issue and causing a lot of distress in my company and users wanting to go back to skype.
