How do you remove people from a room?

I  have seen a few sets of directions that say to hover over that name and then select remove...nothing at all happens when I hover over names.  Aldo saw direction to go to the administration for that room..again, no such thing.  Is Stride not compatible the Macs maybe?  Anyone done this successfully?

Hi there, Emily.

Take note that the feature to remove people from a room is only available for Private rooms.

When you hover to People section on the right, click on the ... icon to show the option to remove the user from the room.

This feature is unavailable for Public rooms as the users should have the option if they want to be in that room or not. Hope that helps!

OK, but do users have the ability to remove themselves from a room then?  Here is my problem...I am with an organization hat has many committees...some of the members change if someone is in a committee right now, they may not all be in the same committee do they get out of the public room?  or is there a work around that I could make a public room private and remove people then?

Hi, Emily.

Understood. Users can leave the public room by just clicking the (x) icon when hovering to the room tab on the left section of Stride. For example:

You can manually ask users to do this, which is not practical. So, the best alternative is to:

  1. Change the privacy of the room from Public to Private
  2. Start removing people manually from the People section on the right 
  3. If there is any need to add new people, you can click on the (+) icon to invite them to the private room

That should do the trick.

PERFECT! thank you!  FYI This is a very tricky thing to find an answer to. And I have seen many people online and forums with the same question...might consider adding this to a more prominent help section or somethings...lots of people lost on this topic.
