How do you add code samples to Stride massages?

Hipchat used to have the "/code" tag to allow for plain text code to be sent in messages, how the [bleep] do you do that in Stride?

It's not necessary to have all the fancy bolds, italics, and underlines, but the sending of code, that's bloody critical.

If you type: ``` then stride creates a Codeblock.

Good...Jist now i checked and its working.

OMFG THANK YOU! This is amazingly useful and it's been driving me nuts that I did not know how to do this. Finding the info in docs is impossible too :(

you can also do an inline code block by surrounding your code snippet with single backticks.  So if you wanted to tell someone to run a cmd like `rm -rf /*` but didn't want to want to make a whole code block with line numbers and such you can do that and have it print out in monospace with a gray background to highlight just what bit is code.

Hi @Cat Richards

Welcome to the Community!

Yes, Hipchat we have the more options to format the data rather than the Stride.

In Stride only we can do the Bold, Italic and Underlines. for more information please have a look at the below article.

I tried using "command + shift + m" to created a code block in Stride and try to paste my json code, but the input box flashes orange.

I try using "```" then past my json code, and it flashes orange.

I try pasting it normally, and it flashes orange.

How could you screw up one of the most important features of Hipchat?!?
