How do I play a sound every time I get a message?

In HipChat, we had a notification (sound) every time a new message was received when chatting with someone. We tried setting this up in Stride, but no one is receiving the notifications. Any ideas?

AFAIK you can't on the browser but you can on the client, e.g. Mac client...
