It looks like HipChat's API is more comprehensive, and I expect more Stride's API to grow over time. Will or is there already an equivalent to HipChat's "Create User" API?

It's no longer possible to "create" users anymore, however an invite user api will exist that does the same thing.
This is on our roadmap!
