Application at Startup

Jon Gerten March 20, 2018

How do I get Stride to automatically open at startup for both Mac and PC? We have a staff that uses it here at our church who constantly forgets to open it. It would be great if there was a startup selection within stride.

Hi Jon,

Currently this option isn't available for Stride but you can track the request https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STRIDE-37. A work around for windows was suggested here in this previous answer.

  • Right click the stride Icon in the start menu and click Open File Location. Leave this window open.
  • press the Windows Logo Key + R, type shell:startup, and then select OK.
  • Now Copy and paste the Stride Shortcut from the first folder into the Startup Folder.

Hope this helps,

Danny

Hi @Jon Gerten

For Mac follow these steps:

  1. Open the System Preferences
  2. Go to User & Groups
  3. Select your User and switch to Login Items
  4. Click the + at the bottom
  5. Now switch to Applications in Finder and select stride, add.
  6. Done

Cheers
Niklas
