Stride must press the enter key twice to send a message.

Harry Hyok Kim April 23, 2018

Hi Guys,

I were very happy when I first encountered Stride service, because I were looking for the next-generation messenger for our company. We've already been using Confluence and Jira for our business, so we've been keeping a close on Stride from year.

My country is using Hangul and it is 2 bytes character. If type Hangul in Stride, it will have to press the Enter key twice to send a message. I registered this issue on the Korean Atlassian Facebook Forum, and not only me, and other user were having same problem. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/atlassiankorea/permalink/1864936130207378/ look, animated gif.)

Anybody have a good idea?

Regards,
KIM

Hey, Harry.

I tested this on my end and confirmed that you have to press Enter / Return twice for the message to go through.

  1. The first Enter / Return puts the cursor to the next line
  2. The second Enter / Return sends the message to the room / 1-1 conversation

Going through the public issue tracker jira.atlassian.com, I came across an existing Suggestion raised to address this matter:

I encourage you to visit the suggestion page linked above and click the Vote and Watch links near the top right to show support for the feature. By doing this, it will ensure you are proactively informed of progress and updates going forward.

Feedbacks are also appreciated. You can do this by leaving a comment on the ticket as this helps us prioritize & understand the use case of the feature request. Hope it helps.
