sourcetree login fail - github

garyalway November 13, 2014

After installing source tree I tried to login to github but made a typo in the password

Now it seems impossible to correct this. I've tried:

  1. click on new repo -> clone from url -> click on "create remote account" - nothing happens other than dialog closes
  2. preferences -> none of the tabs have anything useful in correcting my github credentials
  3. uninstall then reinstall -> nothing, still get "login failed" error

Please assist

My login credentials stopped working.

I was able to fix it by going into the "Clone / New" area and retrieving my list of repos - at this point it said the login failed and i was able to edit the account and change the credentials and reapply.

I don't think the credentials actually changed.

Please ignore, I found the answer in the very un-obvious place where it lives!!
