not able to install sourcetree

Sanatkumar Dhir February 14, 2017

Hi, I'm unable to Install and Start sourcetree; I've GIT installed already.

Following error I get:

System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'downloads.atlassian.com'

Also It says: Unable to extract C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\PortableGcmSt.7z.

I checked the above file and I have a 0 kb file with that name.

Can you please help.

Hi, I get exatly the same error. I tried to manually move the file (https://downloads.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/windows/PortableGcmSt-1.8.1.6.7z) here :
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\PortableGcmSt.7z (I renamed the archive of course).
But, when lauching SourceTree, the file was just deleted and replaced by the original one (0 kb).
I tried to change DNS IP to 8.8.8.8, flush the DNS cache, uninstall SourceTree, erase every folders in AppData linked with SourceTree, re-install it but it doesn't work.

Version 1.10.23.1

I tried the beta version (SourceTree 2.0.11-beta-001) and it works, I will certainly install an older version of SourceTree.

Link to the beta version : https://blog.sourcetreeapp.com/2017/01/27/sourcetree-for-windows-2-0-is-now-in-beta/
